Leafing

Standard

words without meaning or rhyme
are the leaves of my longing, and
released by the winds of change,
scattered asunder they lie
under the trees of desire and loss.

hoarded into a pile
the morning star has no option
but to burn away my striving
until nothing remains but
the charred bone of existence
and the poison of our holy kiss.
